Our School Uniform

Our school uniform helps create a strong sense of belonging, pride, and identity within our community. Wearing the uniform correctly reflects our shared commitment to high standards and represents Sacred Heart positively in the wider community. The uniform expectations can be found on this page. We greatly appreciate the support of parents and carers in ensuring students come to school correctly dressed each day (see table below).

Sun Safety

Being sun safe is essential for all students, particularly during the months of September to April when UV levels in Tasmania are generally above 3 and are high enough to cause skin damage. During these months, students should come to school with sunscreen applied at home. Students will be offered the opportunity to reapply sunscreen before going outside to play or for outdoor HPE lessons.

Students are expected to wear their red school hat whenever they are outdoors during these months. Hats help protect the face, ears and neck, which are areas most vulnerable to sun exposure.

It is important to remember that UV radiation can still be high on cloudy or cool days. Clouds do not block UV, and students can still get sunburnt even when the sun is not visible. For this reason, our “No Hat, No Play” approach applies during September to April to ensure students remain protected.

We appreciate the support of families in helping children come to school with their red school hat each day, so they can enjoy outdoor learning and play safely.
