Band & Strings Program
Sacred Heart School is part of a regional Band and Strings Program. All Catholic Primary schools in Launceston embrace this program established through music tutors from St. Patrick’s Catholic College, in Launceston.
Once a week, students who are enrolled in the program, take part in learning a musical instrument and being part of a Band and Strings Program.
Twice yearly, the Foundation and Development Bands and The Strings Group hold Soirees for parents to demonstrate their improvement.
At the end of the year, there is a major Soiree of all schools and a combined schools Band Orchestra Performance. This Soiree is held in conjunction with the St Patricks College End of Year Concert.
Catholic Primary School Instrumental Music Program

- Open to: Grade 3 – 6 Students
- Format: Lessons are held at school, during the school day with performance opportunities throughout the year.
- Annual Fee: $375 per year (without instrument hire) or $650 per year (with instrument hire)
